Abstract:
Adult onset Still’s disease is a multi system auto inflammatory disorder that can present with fever, arthritis and rash. It is a clinical diagnosis based on typical symptoms, signs and investigations after exclusion of rheumatological conditions, malignancy and infections. Here we report a 57 yrs old Caucasian male who presented to our hospital with lethargy, weight loss, flu-like symptoms, feeling very hot and cold at night with profuse sweating for 5 weeks. He also had a rash on his back and chest. There were joint pains, and he said he was having to walk with sticks. After extensive investigations he fulfilled the Yamaguchi criteria and a diagnosis of AOSD was made. Treatment was started with tapering dose of steroids and he responded very well to it.
