A 36-year-old woman was referred to this clinic noting unusual red lesions of the soft palate. She did not smoke or drink alcohol. Intra-oral examination showed erytroplasic lesion of the soft palate (Figure 1A). There was no other extra-oral manifestation. Investigating the recent medical history, patient revealed the habit of thumb-sucking. After 15 days of thumb-sucking cessation, patient showed complete regression of the soft palate red lesion (Figure 1B). The current case shows how a suspected pre-cancerous lesion such as oral erytroplakia “can disappear” after and accurate patient evaluation.
